America + No Prayer = Epic Terror

Posted by on April 6, 2011 in Thoughts | 7 comments

OH DEAR. This is what the world will look like if you don’t pray? It’s like all my apocalypses have come at once! It’s like the space aliens are landing, Linda Blair’s head is spinning while she spits up pea soup, the earth is opening up to swallow me, Tony Abbott has just become Prime Minister all at once! All my worst nightmares have come true, and for one simple reason, I didn’t pray!

More after the jump…

Note, the original video was disallowed for embedding by the people who originally posted it. (What are you scared of? Ridicule?)

The scariest thing is that so may equate the USA with God. I back-tracked this link via via via via and found it originated here. If this image doesn’t strike terror in your heart, then nothing will!

National Day of Prayer

Be afraid America, Be very afraid…

  1. ~shrug~ Let them pray. I’m personally glad our judicial system finally decided to privatize the event. As much as this ad makes me shake my head, I’m happy to know it was paid for by private funds and not my tax dollars.

    • Oh come on!!! This is like a Ben Hurr-esque production of epic proportions! ;)

      • Hahaha… I’ll admit that I’ve never seen Ben Hur, but the ad evokes many an epic movie trailer, in an over-the-top knock-off sort of way.

  2. I think atheists should have a “National Day of Common Sense”. That would be a real tough swallow for Christians.

  3. The film shows the guy looking out at terror, That’s not because of g0d, but because he is using Windows!

  4. This is the thing: a LOT of American Christians literally believe that this commercial is true and is going to happen.

    I seriously cannot wait for 2013, I really can’t.

  5. This is one of those issues that dampen my optimism for the ‘States, and which also has the effect of making me glad I gave up a faith-based worldview. Far too many people here believe this sort of claim true, which doesn’t help my confidence in the American electorate, but the recent shakeups in the popularity of Republican media pundits and presidential hopefuls gives some room for hope. To paraphrase Ike Asimov, here’s knocking on plastic for luck, such as that often is…
