Michael Shermer Interview – Prominent People Project
Yesterday at the Think Inc conference I was able to grab presenter Michael Shermer for a few minutes to answer a few questions. The interview kicks in after the intro music and is about 9 minutes in length. In it we discuss topics of the importance of skeptical thinking, education, conspiracy theorists, the dumbing down of America and what we need to do as a society to survive and flourish in the next 10 years. Enjoy!

Here is an interview of Michael Shermer just after Marty Pribble's. This interview is heavily focused on the future! Transhumanism, The Singularity and Skepticism with Michael Shermer! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy0NylXqXas

LikeFinally, I've had a chance to listen to it. Great interview, Martin! Shermer has a point, though, slightly optimistic view of the American public's intelligence.

LikeThanks. Nice interview. Shermer makes a lot of sense. (And he's a cyclist so he's got to be good. ;-) )

LikeNice work Martin. It was especially good to hear Michael's thoughts on what we should aim for over the next 10 years, as well as some ambitious education plans.

LikeEarly on in the interview I can tell that he's awesome. You don't even need to teach specific fields as long as you equip kids with the right methods. They'll gravitate to what they are naturally drawn to and go about the task of understanding everything there is to understand and discovering new things; in a brighter vision of the future, stark divisions between scientific disciplines will become as purely taxonomic as they are. Still listening!
