“Steven Pinker Defines Morality” – via BigThink.com

In this video, Steven Pinker sums up morality in less than 2 minutes. This is the definition that best suits my understanding of morality, and why, in some ways, religion should not define moral codes, because by applying religion to morality the morality becomes exclusive to one group and thereby disingenuous. As soon as we exclude people from our moral sensibilities, we pander to our own agendas, which we cannot afford to do in this day and age.

I hope you enjoy this video.

  2. Check out “The Ethical Atheist’s Ten Commandments” on the internet. Too bad civilization didn’t begin with these.

eg. 1) Thou shalt seek knowledge and truth constantly!
