RSA Animate – Choice

Posted by on October 7, 2011 in Thoughts | 2 comments

Is choice a good thing or a bad thing? Is today’s consumer society a richer place because of “unlimited choices”? Professor Renata Salecl talks about this idea, including ideas of belief, belief of belief, blame, public personas, celebrity and societal worth. Are we so tied up in out society that we have become nothing but hive bees that feel we need to consume more and more in order to feel worthwhile?

Such a brilliant, perceptive, and logical explanation of of our society’s consumerism that is swallowing up the lives of many.
